In this Gong Bath, you will lie down comfortably with your eyes closed and be taken on a transcendental meditative journey. Your body will naturally tune in and create a resonance with the sounds waves from the gongs, known for their specific healing frequencies. You are free to relax and drift off where the sound takes you, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed in mind, body and spirit.
Gong Baths are a type of meditative practice that dates back thousands of years. Ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilisations were some of the many that utilised gongs and other instruments in order to carry out what we would today call ‘sound therapy’. In fact, gongs have been used as shamanic healing tools from as early as 16,000 B.C.!
Through our Gong Baths we offer you the opportunity to find a little urban oasis where healing on a cellular level, breaking free of old patterns, restoring, rebalancing and re-energising yourself are within reach.
What to expect from a Sound Therapy Meditation class
Mantra meditation is not meant to stop your thoughts altogether. Instead, the goal is to expand your awareness so you can get more comfortable observing your thoughts (and any other external stimuli) without getting immediately involved in them. The more you practice, the more you'll start to notice that you are inherently more present, with less mind-wandering to the past or future. You'll live in the moment with a greater degree of mindful (non-judgmental) witnessing awareness. You'll also likely notice that your self-referred thinking decreases, cultivating a greater sense of compassion for others.
This healing meditative process will be accompanied by the playing of Gongs, Crystal Sound Bowls, Koshi Chimes, Ocean Drums & other Shamanic instruments.
